It's also half an inch father before your rim bottoms out on an impact. Going to 16" steel also kept the weight the same as 17" alloy. Last edited: Apr 29, 2021.
Jul 2, 2014. #2. Yes, both 15 and 16 inch steel wheels were available - the 15's for all years and the 16's just for early years, IIRC. Not sure the last year that 16's were available though. The steel wheels were essentially the same with some minor detail changes, but all were made by Kelsey-Hayes. Some were riveted and some were welded.
